Mexico City - An earthquake registering six on the Richter scale, with the epicentre in the Sea of Cortez, shook western Mexico on Friday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake's epicentre was 68km southwest of Ahome, a city of about 390 000 people in Mexico's Sinaloa state.
The tremor, at a depth of about 10 km, hit the area early on Friday morning.
In the city of Los Mochis, 75km from the epicentre, windows rattled, but workers at two hotels described the shaking as light.
