Tokyo - A Japanese man brandishing a samurai sword burst into a house in northern Japan on Monday, killing one man while three others, including the attacker were injured, police said.
"A 28-year-old male company employee died after being taken to a nearby hospital in Arai city, about 200km northwest of
Tokyo," the spokesperson said.
He could not say whether the swordsman's injuries were
self-inflicted or sustained as police subdued him.
Police had taken the man into custody, but it is not
confirmed whether he had been formally arrested.
"We are checking his identity and his relationship to the
victims," the spokesperson said, adding police were treating the case
as murder. - Sapa-AFP
