Ankara - An explosion caused by a gas canister slightly injured 16 people on Tuesday, including three foreign tourists, at a Turkish bath in a Mediterranean resort town, an official said.
The explosion was caused by a gas canister at the bath house in the small town of Konakli, Huseyin Yaman, deputy mayor of the town, told the Associated Press by telephone. Konakli is close to the resort of Alanya and is popular with visitors from Germany and Russia.
Most of the injured were employees at the bath house. The identities of the foreign visitors were not immediately known, he said.
None of the injured was in serious condition, he added.
Gas canisters are widely used in Turkey for cooking and heating and explosions are not uncommon.
