Teen hurt after air pump prank

Prague - A silly prank landed an 18-year-old Czech student in serious condition on a hospital operating table last week, press reports said on Wednesday.
His classmate from a vocational school in the southern-Bohemian town of Trebon inserted an air pump in his rectum and began to pump air into him, tearing his bowels. The victim was immediately taken to hospital in terrible pain.
The surgeons had to wait for five hours before the young man had deflated, so they could start operating on him, the distraught parents told the Lidove Noviny daily.
"The doctors said that the first thing he asked was whether he has to go to that school again," the report cited his mother as saying.
His classmates were fooling around instead of cleaning up a school shop when their teacher had left the room, the report said.
