Riots: Curfew in more towns

Orleans - Municipal authorities in the French towns of Orleans and Savigny-sur-Orge declared overnight curfews for minors on Tuesday to combat the nationwide wave of riots.
The two were following the lead given by the mayor of the Paris suburb of Raincy on Monday.
The decisions were distinct from the emergency powers handed by the government to regional authorities to decree curfews and conduct house searches.
In 2001, the town hall of Orleans, a historic city in central France, took similar action to stop several days of unrest in its poor high-immigration suburbs.
Savigny-sur-Orge is located just south of Paris's Orly airport and is close to unrest that shook that area at the weekend.
