Bogus doc gets 15 years

Umtata - A woman who had been practising illegally as a medical doctor was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Umtata High Court on Monday.
Bertha Lucwaba of Butterworth pleaded guilty to practising as a medical doctor under the name of "Dr Goosen".
She had been practising for over a year before she was arrested.
The court heard that she operated in the rural areas of Qumbu, Butterworth and Nqamakhwe charged her patients R95 each for consultation.
Lucwaba was charged with selling, dispensing and possessing scheduled medicine and also for failing to label medication on display.
