Madrid - Citizens from 10 countries other than Spain were among the nearly 200 people killed in the bomb attacks in Madrid, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar said on Friday.
Many of the foreigners were from Latin American countries, he said.
Those killed were "a Chilean, a Cuban, three Peruvians, an Ecuadoran, a citizen from Guinea-Bissau, two from Honduras, one Frenchwoman, a Moroccan, two Poles, a Colombian and the rest were Spanish," Aznar said in a televised address.
The Romanian foreign ministry said later on Friday that two Romanians had also died in the attacks. It added that a team of officials had gone to Madrid to search for other nationals among the wounded.
According to the Spanish government, 198 people were killed and more than 1 400 were wounded when 10 bombs timed to go off within minutes of each other ripped through four trains crowded with commuters.
