Cairo - Two buildings collapsed in a south Cairo suburb, killing five people and injuring 10 others on Monday night, said a security source on Tuesday.
The three-storey buildings located in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, were at risk of falling down and were not licensed, said the source.
Rescue teams rushed to the site to pull the bodies of the victims from the rubble and the injured were rushed to hospital.
Specialists on Tuesday were investigating the site, while investigators from the prosecutor-general's office launched an inquiry into the incident. - Sapa-dpa
