Moscow - Floods in Siberia have left four people dead and forced thousands to evacuate their homes, Russian news agencies reported on Saturday, quoting local authorities.
Three people in the town of Kaltan in the Kemerovo region drowned after the river burst its banks, Itar-Tass said, quoting a crisis unit.
Three hundred residents of a village had to be evacuated by boats from their homes overnight, while about 2 200 homes have been flooded and about 10 000 people affected.
Other districts are in a state of emergency.
Flooding in the Altai region also claimed a life, Ria Novosti said, quoting the region's interior minister. It said 1 700 residents had to flee their homes.
Itar-Tass said nearly 900 homes had been flooded in the town of Biisk in the region, and another 2 500 in three other districts.
