London - A massive explosion was seen near a town just north of London early Sunday, followed by huge flames pluming into the sky, a report said.
A reporter for Britain's Sky News television said he heard a "low, loud rumbling" in the sky near the town of Saint Albans followed by a "massive" explosion.
Orange flames could then be seen in the sky up to a great height, just east of the town, the reporter added.
There was a fuel storage depot located near the area where the flames could be seen, the report added. It was also close to Luton Airport, a major air hub north of London.
Another witness told the television station that the force of the blast blew in windows at a hotel near Saint Albans.
