Quake triggers tsunami warning

Tokyo - An earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Richter scale has rocked the Indian Ocean, triggering a tsunami warning, the Japanese Kyodo news service said on Tuesday.
A second report from the agency quoted a Singapore meteorological official as saying the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.5 and occurred near Indonesia's Sumatra Island about midnight.
