Jerusalem - The Israeli cabinet voted in favour on Sunday of a compromise agreement on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's controversial Gaza pullout plan by a majority of 14 to seven.
Under the compromise formula, the government gave its backing to the overall principles of Sharon's plan but the premier will not make any formal announcement on the evacuation of specific settlements until March 2005.
A governmental commission would be established in the interim period to plan for the eventual pullout.
