Japan quake - no tsunami risk

Tokyo - A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale shook southern Japan on Tuesday but there was no risk of a tsunami or immediate reports of damage, officials said.
The quake occurred at 11:04 in waters off the Pacific coast of Miyazaki prefecture, 900km southwest of Tokyo, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The quake was 30km deep, the agency said.
