BIOGRAPHY
Heinz is a Final Year Law Student at Stellenbosch University. He started playing the piano at the age of 11, but stopped playing after six years when he discovered the guitar. This opened up a whole new world for him - after teaching himself he realised he had the natural ability to create music.
Soon after beginning classical guitar lessons he played solo in church for his performance debut. At University he played in a band at the Student Church. He began to write music in 1997, and also learned to play the drums, harmonica and bass. Heinz entered KFM Radio's Create A Star competition in Cape Town and won the category for songwriting and singing.
Heinz is the oldest of three children and music seems to run in the family. His mother played the piano and his father sang in a choir and loves rhythm and drums.
Heinz is a big fan of dancing "Langarm" style as well as jamming on the dance floor in the more traditional sense. He enjoys being fit and his hobbies are swimming, jogging, body boarding and "sea stuff".
Heinz is clearly leadership material and chaired the Christian Society at school. It did not stop there however, and he has been involved in the Students Representative Council as part of the Cultural Committee at Stellenbosch University and is a member of the Law Society.
Heinz is happily single and waiting for "the right girl to come along". He says he likes to give people room to get to know who he is and form their own opinions of his character. He describes himself as a patient and compassionate people's person.
