Jerry Springer to host Miss World 2001

Cape Town - King of controversy, Jerry Springer will host the upcoming Miss World 2001 to be aired in November.
M-Net will broadcast the pageant live from the Sun City Superbowl on November 16 at 20:30.
Present Miss South Africa Jo-Ann Strauss, will be competing for the title with the top 105 women from across the globe. For the first time Miss China will also be fighting for the honour of being crowned Miss World.
This yearÆs pageant features a new and interactive system of voting called U Decide, as well as the unveiling two new programme concepts on M-Net.
The two brand new programmes will be flighted on M-Net: Miss World, U Decide (a preview package aired one week prior to the event in order to launch public voting and shot on location around SA), and Miss World 2001 (the live final show including all of the elimination rounds).
M-Net last had rights to the pageant in 1998.
Voting will take place via a number of individual voting centres in differing locations around the globe. All of the competing countries will have a number of voting lines.
