Harare - Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was arrested on Friday and taken to a police station in central Harare on the last day of mass anti-government protests, an official for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) said.
"We suspect they want to lock him up for the weekend," the official of Tsvangirai's MDC said.
Tsvangirai had been arrested "for utterances he is accused of making at a rally," said the official, who asked not to be named.
