Berlin - Jurgen Klinsmann said on Monday he might stay on as coach of Germany if his team has a successful World Cup.
Klinsmann's two-year contract ends with the World Cup and he has been vague about his future. But Klinsmann said he was having a lot of fun working with the young team he has formed.
"A coach is always measured by the success of his team," Klinsmann said. "It's a factor that could lead me to go on."
Klinsmann also said that he would discuss the situation with his family before making a decision.
Klinsmann has been under fire in Germany for choosing to keep his California residence instead of moving back home.
Since Klinsmann took over after Germany's disastrous Euro 2004 campaign, he has rejuvenated the team and has pushed for fast-paced, attacking game.
The 41-year-old Klinsmann had never coached before getting the Germany. He won the World Cup as a player in 1990.
"I could very well imagine continuing as coach," Klinsmann said.
