Doha - World No. 3 Ernie Els made it a profitable two-week desert romp with a sensational one-shot victory at the 1.5 million dollar Qatar Masters on Sunday.
The "Big Easy" had made it a bit difficult for himself after a lacklustre first round 73 on Thursday, but reeled off a spectacular seven-under par 65 on the final day to overturn a five-shot deficit and pocket the $250 000 first prize.
Overnight leader Henrik Stenson finished second after struggling in windy conditions, two bogeys and a double bogey six at the 14th putting paid to his hopes of winning this third title on the European Tour.
Aussie Richard Green and Pierre Fulke finished joint third while James Kinsgton, Barry Lane and and Robert Karlsson ended up in the joint fourth spot.
