SA canoeist through to semis

Beijing - South Africa's Shaun Rubenstein qualified for the semi-finals of the Olympic canoeing K1 1 000m heats on Monday. He was fifth fastest in his heat in a time of 3:36s.
Several canoeists qualified directly for the finals, among them
Tim Brabants of Britain in a time of 3:27.828, Canada's Adam van Koeverden in 3:29.622 and Eirik Veras Larsen of Norway with 3:29.043.
