Beijing - Swimmer Ashley Callus collapsed and suffered a dizzy spell after helping Australia to a bronze medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay at the Beijing Olympics on Monday.
The medal ceremony was delayed after Callus required treatment in the mixed zone area after America's world-record breaking win over France, with his team-mates refusing to leave him.
Team officials said Callus, 29, suffered a dizzy spell and spent about 10 minutes on the ground, although he did not lose consciousness, as the team left the pool arena.
Callus recovered sufficiently after treatment by medical staff to join in the medal ceremony.
A team official said Callus was exhausted.
