Wellington - Auckland produced one of
the biggest surprises of the Super 14 season with a 26-15 upset
victory over the previously unbeaten Brumbies at Eden Park
on Saturday.
Centre Anthony Tuitavake scored one try and set up two
others for flanker Tory Flavell and fullback Isa Nacewa for the
Blues, who had won just one other game this season.
Nacewa
added three penalties and conversion.
Australia winger Clyde Rathbone and late replacement Joel
Wilson claimed tries for the Canberra-based side, captain
Stirling Mortlock kicked a penalty and Mark Gerrard slotted a
conversion.
The Brumbies remained in fourth position on 19 points after
the fifth-placed Bulls were beaten by the Hurricanes in
Pretoria.
The Blues climbed to 10th on eight points.
