Griffons hold on to Cheetahs

Welkom - The Springbok Sevens and Emerging Bok captains, Jonothan Mokuena and Ashley Johnson, will stay with the Griffons for the remainder of the rugby season, despite a plea from the Boland to make them available to the wine farmers.
The Cheetahs have put their foot down and both Mokoena and Johnson will therefore turn out for the Purple People Eaters when they travel to Potchefstroom on Saturday to meet the Leopards.
Johnson will start at number eight with Mokuena his understudy on the bench.
The Griffons have made only a change at lock with both Isak van der Westhuizen and Ockie van Zyl out injured. The young Francois Uys, a looseforward, will scrum down with Windpomp van Rooyen in the second row.
The injury crisis in the Free State had no effect on the Griffons selection and they could maintain continuity in selection.
Big Hennie Daniller will once again start at inside centre with his 110kg frame, next to Kennedy Tsimba, who is slowly coming into his own again.
The Griffons start with eight Cheetahs on loan to them for the season, among them former Leopards prop Ronnie Uys. Uys, Van Rooyen and Mokoena have previously donned the Leopards jersey.
Griffons: Cecil Afrika; Shane Hancke, Jacko Jackson, Hennie Daniller, Howard Noble; Kennedy Tsimba, Jandre Blom; Ashley Johnson, Shaun Botha, Albert Parsons, Windpomp van Rooyen, Francois Uys, Ronnie Uys, Andries Kruger, Sarel Louw.
Replacements: Gert Greyling, Nicky Steyn, Sandile India, Jonothan Mokuena, Danny Theron, Werner Griesel, Darryl Coeries.
