London - All those arrested in connection with the murder of an 11-year-old boy in Liverpool have been released, police said on Monday.
Two youths aged 15 and 19 and two girls aged 15 and 18 were released without charge. A 16-year-old youth and a 19-year-old youth were released on bail.
Rhys Jones was playing football in the car park of a pub in Croxteth, Liverpool on Wednesday night when an unidentified youth arrived on a bicycle, fired three shots and escaped.
The victim was struck in the throat and died en route to hospital.
In total 10 people have been arrested in connection with the killing - six were released on bail and four without charge.
Police said they have interviewed a witness to the killing. Investigators have also examined video material which shows the perpetrator, reports said, but the footage isn't good to identify him.
According to a report in The Times newspaper, police believe the killer meant to shoot a rival gang leader and killed Rhys by mistake. - Sapa-dpa
