Lome, Togo - Togo fired coach Stephen Keshi after the team's poor showing in the African Cup of Nations.
Keshi, a Nigerian, lost his job after his squad failed to advance past the first round in Egypt, state television reported on Monday.
Keshi wasn't available for comment.
State television said sports authorities were in discussion with two foreign coaches to handle the side in this year's World Cup in Germany.
Togo is one of five African teams to have qualified for the World Cup and one of the four first-timers from the continent. However, two games into the African Cup, Togo was already out, having lost to Congo and Cameroon - neither of which qualified for the World Cup.
