Modise's future under spotlight
2008-02-11 13:22
Johannesburg - Danny Jordaan, Chief Executive Officer of the 2010 Local Organising Committee, will meet the LOC's director of communications, Tim Modise, later on Monday following widespread reports that Modise has quit.
Jordaan has just returned from Ghana where he was serving on the Confederation of African Football's Organising Committee for the African Cup of Nations.
It is unclear whether Modise's reported resignation is linked to the recent suspension of the LOC's Human Resources manager Nomzamo Kasana.
It is also unclear why Kasama was suspended, but an internal inquiry is being planned.
Modise, the former chief executive of Proudly South African, was appointed in 2006 and he has spent much of his time allaying concerns about South Africa's 2010 preparations.
