Best finish awaited
The intriguing Absa Premiership on Sunday between Bloemfontein Celtic and Bid Vest Wits is key to determining the best finish. The outing is scheduled to take place at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium. The hosts are still oozing confidence after back-to-back wins against Thanda Royal Zulu and Jomo Cosmos which saw them drifting away from the dreaded relegation. Celtic won 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Both will be striving to better their respective position on the log table. The Clever Boys, under Roger De Sa, are looking to finish in a creditable position in the Premiership. De Sa said although he would give youngsters the opportunity as part of preparing for the forthcoming season, they were gunning to salvage full points. “Basically we are looking at improving our position on the log as we have achieved the objective not to content with relegation. I will be happy to obtain a top-eight spot,” he said. Wits have 37 points in the bag and winning against Celtic will see them ascend the table to occupy a respectable position. Khumbulani Konco, Celtic’s manager, is optimistic about the prospect to plot The Students as the present state of affairs is favourable. “We have an injury-free squad to content with the challenge to improve our standing on the log ladder. For a long time we have not had the luxury to field a full-strength team this season due to injuries sustained by key players. We aim to finish on a creditable spot. A top-eight standing will be a bonus for us,” Konco said.
