Mirror Effect is an events company that sets out to create a linkage between big companies and small organisations or institutions, opportunities for the development of professional and emerging music artists and fashion designers, companies and practitioners through hosting and facilitating workshops in exchange of knowledge and information.

The company works in partnership with several NGO’s, companies and organisations which are an intervention structure that aims to create a dance, acting and music network with the aim of using these talents/skills as a tool for education development, performances, promotions within the entertainment and arts industries for research and archival purposes.

As a company that aims to unearth and empower unknown talent in music from different places in South Africa, Mirror Effect is the same company that initiated the Wai – Who am I – Talent Show which has travelled to several small towns discovering and empowering unknown artists in music and dance.

This programme is designed to honour the music sector in the provinces, provide a platform of performances for most of the talented unreleased artists.

The company has decided to bring the show to the Free State this year because artists in small towns are not fully exposed to the bigger picture of the music industry as opposed to artists in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The show is strictly for unreleased artists. Finalists will be taken to perform in Johannesburg.

Because the project is for the public’s benefit, any funds raised and sponsorships received will be for running costs for administration, workshops, travelling and accommodation for artists and crew, renumeration, venue, lighting and sound hire.

Mirror Effect will thus be conducting talent shows with one of the main community radio stations in the Free State, Mosupatsela FM and Letsika visual production company and also expects to partner with other community and campus radio stations in the Free State like Kov?sie FM and Qwaqwa FM.

This showcase will commence on 31 May in the Free State and last till 15 September.

Thaba Nchu is up first on 31 May at the Mmabana Cultural Centre at 15:00, then Botshabelo will be visited on June 14 at the Nicro Hall starting at 18:00.

According to Evhá Nteso of Mirror Effect, the full information will be broadcast on the province’s community radio stations.

Qwaqwa will be visited in June, Dewetsdorp in July and Winburg and Welkom in August and the final will be in Bloemfontein in September.

Due to the constrained operating budget, we call on companies, stores, record labels, released artists and business people to assist in any way possible.

Forms for artists who would like to take part in the show are available all over the Free State and the community is requested to listen or call Mosupatsela FM who will broadcast information everyday.

For more call Mr Mokhethi on 051-531-0800 or 051-534-2233.
