Completes course
The Griqualand West cricket coach, Adri Swanepoel, is one of eleven selected candidates who have completed the first part of the Bakers Level IV (National Certificate) after attending a five-day course at the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria last week. The coaches who attended the course are all either involved with the amateur provincial teams and professional franchises, South Africa under-19, South Africa ‘A’, emerging SA squad and the National Academy. Cricket South Africa’s manager for coaching, Anton Ferreira, said the holders of this certificate will be able to undertake cricket coaching at the highest level, technically and administratively. “The first part of the course focuses on aspects and skills other than the technical or tactical side of the game, while the second part scheduled to be held later in the year will mainly concentrate on the more cricketing aspects at senior professional level.” The Level IV course is the highest coaching qualification obtainable in the country. The second part of this course will run from 15 to 19 September this year.
