Mosupatsela FM recently held an event to bid farewell to its former staff members in recognition of the role they had played within the radio station.

The function, held in Thaba Nchu, was attended by former Mosupatsela staff members, the board of directors and current members of the management team.

Speaking on behalf of former staff members, Nthabiseng Thekisho, a former financial manager at the station, thanked the board of directors for their support and courage during her short stay at the station.

“Although I did not spend much time at the station, I learnt and gained a lot of experience at Mosupatsela FM,” Thekisho said.

She said the skills and experience she acquired while at the station helped her to cope with the requirements at her current job as she had also developed in terms of skills and capacity.

She said people had to give support to Mosupatsela FM because over the years it had been a true community radio station and its administration was more stable with proper systems in place, thanks to everyone involved

Speaking at the event, the chairperson of the board of directors, Lele Mamatu, said it was important that people understood that Mosupatsela FM was not only there to develop the talents of those who were on air but also of those in other roles.

“We need to recognize the important role played by our administration like we did with the likes of Lady J, the same must be done with our staff members especially those who have been loyal in serving this radio station despite its difficulties,” he said.

Mamatu said they were especially proud of the fact that all the former financial managers at the station were now in big institutions and were making a positive contribution in their workplaces.

“We feel proud and honoured that they all started with us, gained experience and they are now assets to many of the companies they work for.”
