Cansa dance a smashing success
LADYBRAND. – The Ladybrand Rotary Anns had a smashing success with their annual dance to the benefit of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) recently. The live band Bahlzak entertained a crowd of 150 people to incredible dancing music that kept everyone on their feet until long after midnight. The Anns served a succulent spitbraai dinner in a stylish setting with romantic fairy lights and sandstone candleholders. They were able to raise more than R12 000 with ticket sales and will donate the funds to Cansa. “I think it was a wonderful evening and we want to thank the Anns and everyone who contributed for their hard work and generous support,” says Ms Ilse Visser of Cansa in Ladybrand. The Anns wish to thank the following sponsors for their invaluable support: the Mantsopa Municipality for the use of the town hall, the South African Police Canteen for the use of their dinnerware, Alita Bartleman for the use of her sandstone candleholders, Ladybrand Printers and Maloti News for the free printing and advertising, Rothman Boerdery, Gert Brits, Jan Oberholzer and Eddie Scholtz for donating the sheep, Dirk Barker for doing the spitbraai, Kitty Beukman, Marie Bosch, Johan Brits, Anna-Marie Buys, Mainy du Preez, J.P. Fourie, House of Meats, Joal Apteek, Fanie Olckers, Elsabe Oosthuizen, Jaco Rothman, Stephens Nursery and Estelle Weilbach for their financial contributions. Your support is greatly appreciated. The Ladybrand Rotary Anns are looking forward to plan another exciting dance for the third weekend in April next year.
