"With the reaffirmation of patriotism in our country right now, this makes the most sense to the team..."

Durban Youth Hip-Hop Festival promoter Hlubi Radebe has followed suit after South African Broadcasting Corporation COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng  declared 90% local music on all SABC radio stations.

Radebe released a 100 percent local line-up for the annual Durban Youth Hip-Hop Festival in ."With the reaffirmation of patriotism in our country right now, this makes the most sense to the team. Together with our various partners, we decided to invest the funds into supporting and developing South African youth. It was an easy decision to make to use our money to grow our people," said Radebe.

In an interview with Rian van Heerden on Jacaranda FM, Hlaudi Motsoeneng encouraged creativity amongst musicians and for artists to keep producing good quality music so they can receive more platforms.

“We can’t compromise on the quality of music‚” Motsoeneng said.
