50 Cent says he's broke but it's also reported that he may have gone this route in order to avoid paying out for a court battle he lost

Something that we never thought we would see happen - the day 50 Cent claimed that he's broke.

The In Da Club rapper filed papers with the US Bankruptcy Court on Monday and his lawyers have reportedly claimed that he has assets and debts that range between $10 million to $50 million (about R120 million to R600  million) as well as 49 people that have given him credit.

But it's also reported that Fiddy may have gone this route in order to avoid paying out for a court battle he lost.

What a jury has found Curtis Jackson guilty of is posting up a sex tape of Rick Ross' baby momma, Lastonia Leviston, on his website without her consent and  said jury asked Mr Jackson to fork out $5 million (approximately R50 million) for causing her humiliation and leading to her depression.

But that shouldn't hurt as much because 50 has been listed on Forbes many a times and is reportedly worth a cool $100 million for his business endeavours such as selling Vitamin Water as well as clothing which recently includes an underwear line.

It seems that the rap star is taking a page out of Donald Trump's book as he has also filed for bankruptcy in order to avoid paying for his debts.

We'll just have to wait and see how it all p[l]ays out.
