An elderly woman has proved that it is never too late to make things happen.

An elderly woman has proved that it is never too late to make things happen.

Ninety-nine year old Doreetha Daniels from California, USA enrolled at the College of the Canyons in 2009 when she dreamed of receiving her associates degree before she turned 100 and she did it!

Daniels has not only made history but she has also witnessed a lot of American history which included the Great Depression, women getting the right to vote and the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.

The odds were also stacked against Daniels: she suffered a minor stroke at 97 which resulted in her losing mobility in her left hand, she struggled to hear the professors and she experienced trouble in having to keep up with some courses and adjusting to the digital age.

But Daniels put more effort in, she studied with tutors and did her homework twice a week to make sure she reached her goal of graduating on time.

Daniels graduated this weekend and had some parting words of wisdom too.

"I've had a few bumps in the road. But I have overcome them and finally, June 5th, I'm walking. When the bumps come, just pick yourself up and say, 'I'm going to go ahead'. And go ahead," Daniels was reported as saying.

So nothing is impossible right?
