You won't get to experience the SupaMega's greatness at Back To The City on 27 April as he's pulled out of the festival.

The Baddest rapper confirmed via a statement posted on social media that he will no longer be a part of the hip-hop music festival following a disagreement with the organisers.

According to the statement, all AKA wanted was for the organisers to “make a ‘big deal’ about AKA returning and playing ‘Back2TheCity’” considering the growth of his brand and the quality of his live shows.

The announcement of the event’s line-up was the straw that broke the camel’s back as it was the opposite of what was agreed upon.

“Instead of what we had agreed upon, my name was confined to what I can only describe as minor details on the ‘flyer’”, AKA said.

Kiernan Forbes did not mince his words with his refusal to play second fiddle to “international” artists in Mzansi. “I consider myself an International act. I have the tours‚ awards‚ following and most importantly the live show and music to prove it. With all due respect to Elzhi‚ Jay Live‚ Skyzoo & Camp Lo‚ I will not allow an artist like myself to be reduced to a minor detail.” You can read the rest of the statement below.
