President Jacob Zuma says ANC’s walk to freedom and not to prosperity has been a long one.

President Jacob Zuma says  ANC’s walk to freedom and not to prosperity has been a long one.

Zuma was speaking at a gala dinner attended for ANC executives and decision makers in Nelspruit in Mpumalanga.

Dressed in a red and black Chinese collared jacket the president said the party is happy with their achievements since the dawn of democracy.

“African National Congress celebrates 102 years and is still evergreen,” he said.

"And we are going to tell people who to exactly vote for," Zuma said.

Taking a swipe at fresh political parties, Economic Freedom Front and Agang, he said, “ANC is not just a party formed by friends or angry people.”

He confidently told the crowd dressed to the nines that the manifesto, with its five key points that the party identified, is wonderful.

"The organisation has clear policies and many of you are allowed to comment because we are confident of our policies," Zuma said.

The five manifesto pillars are Education, Health, Rural Development and Land Reform, Creation of decent work and Fight against Corruption.
