On Monday 3April, 94.7 Highveld Stereo listeners will find their favourite radio presenters hosting different shows.

Local entertainment news site Zalebs has reported that Anele Mdoda may be moving to Jacaranda FM - however, she confirmed that she’ll be staying at 94.7 FM and taking over the breakfast show from host Darren Simpson.

“After five years on 94.7’s drive show, I’m honoured to take on the challenge of the breakfast show,” she said in a statement. “My first big radio break was at 94.7 and I’m thankful to management for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. The station, and the breakfast show in particular, is home to radio royalty, with personalities such as Darren Simpson who’s continued to evolve the breakfast show and create radio magic. I know he’s going to be a tough act to follow. Radio is and always will be a very personal platform, and I’m driven by the connection I have with my listeners. I’ll always work hard to deliver content that evokes emotion, makes people laugh and gets them thinking. I’m looking forward to the next part of this incredible journey on 94.7.”

Station manager Ravi Naidoo said Anele's got the right stuff to host the morning show and that they’re all proud of her for coming this far.

“Anele’s flair for talk and interviews will suit the breakfast slot which offers more time for extended conversations in between the music mix,” said Naidoo. “She’s certainly got the gravitas to host the breakfast show, and we love that she’s come full circle to this point on 94.7.”
