Arguments to continue in 'Jub Jub trial'

Closing arguments in the murder case against musician Molemo "Jub-Jub" Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala are due to continue in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The two also face charges of attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

They were allegedly racing their Mini Coopers in March 2010 when they crashed into a group of school children in Mdlalose Street, Protea North. Four boys died and two others were seriously injured.

The State has argued that Maarohanye's testimony could not be taken seriously as he exposed himself as an unreliable witness.

It also argued that Maarohanye and Tshabalala had not shown concern for the group of school children in the aftermath of the accident.
