Arrested for bogus Home Affairs office

Zimbabwean national, Duncan Danda, has been sentenced for operation a bogus Home Affairs office at the Beitbridge port of entry in Musina.

Zimbabwean national, Duncan Danda, has been sentenced for operating a bogus Home Affairs office at the Beitbridge port of entry in Musina.

The Hawks in Limpopo lead the investigation based on a tip-off which led to the arrest of Danda in January 2017.

Upon his arrest, he was found in possession of Home Affairs immigration stamps, an undisclosed amount of US dollars in cash, which was believed to have been paid to him by foreign nationals in return for his services.

Danda was found guilty on Tuesday by the Musina Magistrate Court

He was found guilty of the Contravention of Immigration Act which yielded a sentenced of six years Imprisonmen, suspended for five years.

He was also fined ten thousand rand or one year imprisonment.
