I’ve been with my husband for 15 years and married for six years. Last year, he decided to be circumcised and we found out he’s HIV-positive.

My test results were negative. I asked him how he could’ve gotten HIV, and he confessed to cheating on me with someone at work, which is why he quit his job, too.

It’s hard to forgive him.

Am I making a mistake by divorcing him?

Sis Dolly answers

You have every right to feel angry and hurt because of his betrayal.

However, you need to deal with the betrayal first and heal from it so you don’t end up making irrational decisions.

The decision to divorce him will depend on if you feel you’ve reached a stage where you can’t forgive him, or if you still want to try and mend your marriage.

Either way, you’ll need to attend counselling.

Also, visit your nearest clinic to get regular HIV tests until you’re cleared.
