Worried About His Family

I’m 47 and dating a guy who is 39.

We have a good relationship and we do things together. I’m worried about his family and that maybe they will not be happy about our love.

Should I be worried about them or keep on loving him as he loves me?

I notice that most people who write to me like to put up barriers to their love and find reasons not to be happy with the person who is in their life.

There are 100 reasons to enjoy this relationship for what it is and one reason that may (or may not) present a problem in the future.

But you want to stop loving this poor man.

Have you talked to him about his family and what his family would think and if it would be a problem for them? Does he have any intention of introducing you to his family yet?  If he loves you and you love him, a seven-year age gap should not be a deterrent.

And while the opinions of outsiders may present some challenges, they won’t mean the end of the world and can only mean the end of your relationship if you give them weight.
