I wanted to be Miss SA- Ayanda

Before she became well known as the manager and wife of the late gospel superstar Sfiso Ncwane, Ayanda Ncwane wanted to pursue modelling and had a dream of becoming Miss South Africa.

"I had a dream of becoming Miss South Africa after my father died," Ayanda shared in an interview with Anele Mdoda on Real Talk with Anele recently.

Ayanda said that dream came soon after her father passed on and the family couldn't afford to take them to school anymore to further their education.

"I had seen that Miss South Africa had opportunities where the girls won money and I could use that to further my education," she explains.

Ayanda went on to take part in Miss Durban and a few pageants but she never took it further. As much as she didn't go further in modelling Ayanda says modelling reinforced something her grandmother had always taught her about looking presentable.

"Looking decent is one of those things I have always been taught. I know that people look at you when you introduce yourself according to how you are dressed and they decide who you are," she explained.

Ayanda says she continues to teach those around her the importance of always being presentable.

Ayanda made it to Miss SA teen in 2002 and came to Joburg that year and when she didn't make it to the finals she gave up on modelling.
