Beat bath-time blues

27 March 2014

Toddlers love splashing about in water so bath time should be no different – it’s a great opportunity to have loads of fun with your toddler. Here are some clever ideas to beat bath-time blues.

Shaving cream fun: Fill the hollows of a muffin tin with shaving cream (use shaving cream for sensitive skins). Mix a few drops of food colouring of your choice with the shaving cream and let your kids “paint” the bath and tiles. When they’re done simply wipe off the shaving cream with a damp cloth.

Let it glow: Puta fewglow sticks in the bath and turn off the lights. Your child will love the glowing underwater effect.

Bath jelly: Try the new jelly products that turn your child’s bathwater into jelly. Simply add the mixture to the water and add the dissolver to turn it back to normal.

Use kitchenware: Kids love watching water pour through a colander and filling cups and pots with water.

Make bath slime: Mix apacket of unflavoured gelatine with a half a cup of lemon juice and four drops green (or any other colour) food colouring. Microwave the mixture for 45 to 60 seconds and put in the freezer for 30 minutes or until set. Your kids can play with the green slime in the bath. It’s easy to remove with hot water and soap.
