While everyone was talking about the Spur incident where an outraged white male customer tried to overturn a table in a heated argument that caused an uproar on social media - an incident that people hinted was racial - former Miss SA Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala was having her own real life racist attack moment.

Bokang shared on her Instagram account that she was on her back from her hair salon when the racial incident took place. She said that when it was her turn to cross the road there were still other cars passing so she decided to wait until they'd gone by so that she could safely cross the road. She added that her doing so caused the couple in the car behind her to hoot repeatedly and she eventually moved to the yellow lane so that they could pass and that was when the man took her by surprise when he screamed at her saying, “You're a fucken monkey. Monkeys can't drive. Fuck you, you monkey."

"I got so mad . . .  Today is Human Rights day and we as Africans are still being called monkeys by some white people . . . I followed them and I blocked the whole road, got out of my car, stood right in front of their car and told them they can run me off if they want to but I will not be moving out till they get out and apologize."'

She said that she wouldn't tolerate this type of behaviour just to maintain peace and appearance, because this type of behaviour is not acceptable in this day and age.

"The biggest part is that this is about my son and the fact that these two people will have children and teach them that Africans are monkeys and their kids will say it to my son someday . . . We can't keep tolerating such nonsense for the sake of peace."

She said she drove after them, cut them off by swerving in front of them and made them apologise to her in front of everyone on the road.
