The bail hearing for kwaito star Brickz, charged with rape, is still yet to start.

Brickz, real name Sipho Charles Ndlovu is appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court today to apply for bail.

The court proceedings were due to start at 09.00.

But by 11.00 the hearing had not begun. A prosecutor told the gallery that the bail application was being delayed until 14:00.

The cause behind the 5 hour delay is not clear.

Brickz’s lawyers have said that it is related to the case docket. A lawyer has revealed to DRUM that an officer who's supposed to present the docket is not present, hence the delay.

Brickz has been in police custody since November 1. The rape case was opened against him on October 17 at the Honeydew police station.

The rape is said to have occurred in March. The girl he allegedly raped is believed to be 16-years-old.

The City Press reported that the kwaito star allegedly threatened to kill his accuser if she spoke out.

The paper revealed that Brickz's wife, Nqobile Ndlovu, was the one who reported him to the police.

She had since moved out of their house, where the teenager was said to be a regular visitor.
