'This is history in the making' - Robert Marawa

It seems after #FillUpTheDome rapper Cassper Nyovest is fast becoming SA's golden hip hop star, especially if his recent single Malome with the legendary Mahotella Queens is anything to go by. Besides the song garnering a lot of fans and downloads for the young muso, Malome is also getting him respect from his industry peers.

Sports presenter Robert Marawa recently sang Nyovest's praises when he had him and Mahotella Queens on Thursday Night Live with Marawa on Supersport. "This is something very exciting and history in the making, " Robert said of the duet.

"We are so excited about this collaboration, working with Cassper has been a great experience. We usually work with many young musicians outside Africa but to have one from our own country is a real blessing," Hilda Tloubatla from Mahotella Queens said. "Malome was an old song that Mahotella Queens did and I have always loved it. When I decided to do the remake I asked to join me and they agreed. Its been great!," Nyovest explained.

Malome is off Nyovest's second album Refiloe released late 2015. If you are one of the few people who hasn't listened to the song and seen the video here's a look at it:
