On the documentary about his journey: "The reason I did the documentary is because as people we tend not to document our lives, so that we can keep stock of our lives and our progress. I had a videographer follow me around to my gigs and to awards ceremonies," he tells us.

The star says he went through some financial challenges before establishing his own record label D-Exclusive. "After I left Will of Steel Productions, I had no money to start my own record label, but all I knew is that I wanted to be independent. I used to ask people for money for petrol, so I could get around," he reveals.

He says he suffered a setback when he was involved in a car accident after hitting a wall. " I was saved by the airbag. Subsequently my girlfriend left me and I was heartbroken by that. I have no regrets about that," he shares.
