Pitted against, shall we say, other crowd pleasers of the moment, songbird Goapele, it seems, is a tad averse to gimmicks of the day:  explicit music videos and the mandatory (should read: ubiquitous) showing off of knockers.

Also, she seems less forward than your run-of-the-mill TV sexpot. So the odds are you won’t spot her on TMZ or any other like-minded media.

Now on her fifth album, she shot the works scouting around for industry hotshots such as Keith Harris (production), DeMonte Posey (production).

The album is as musical as it’s accessible and it’s equally a great validation for the producers in question. Highlights include “Hey Boy” which features Snoop Dogg.

Also to look out for; “My Love”, an infectious ditty that features the legendary Eric Benét. Strong As Glass is doubtless Goapele’s best work to date.
