The full bench at the North Gauteng High Court has ordered the Public Protector to release of the state capture by 5pm today.

The full bench at the North Gauteng High Court has ordered the Public Protector to release of the state capture  by 5pm today.

The decision comes after a full-day court battle  took place on Tuesday, where legal counsel from the EFF, UDM, Cope, DA and former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor applied to intervene the application to interdict the release of the report by President Jacob Zuma and  Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Des Van Rooyen.

Before court proceedings commenced on Wednesday morning, President Zuma’s legal counsel announced that they had withdrawn their application to have the report interdicted, which drew criticism from the opposing lawyers.

The advocates who represented the opposition parties told the court that case was a complete waste of time, and pleaded with the court to hold  Zuma and Van Rooyen  personally liable for the legal costs of the case.
