A group of cows forced a pilot to make an emergency landing.

The Boeing 747 was carrying 390 cows over the Irish Sea when a fire alarm from the cargo hold where the animals were being kept went off.

The pilot quickly landed the plane at Heathrow Airport where they found the alarm had actually been triggered by the animals overheating, reports the Sunday People newspaper.

No sign of a fire was found and the passengers and animals were unhurt.
