This singer and TV presenter welcomes the chance to be a role model who brings substance to the entertainment industry.

SHE was booted out of two national presenter searches but has finally found her place in the entertainment world.

We meet singer, presenter and fashionista Nandi Mngoma at Gleneagle’s Cafe & Lounge, a cosy restaurant nestled in the heart of one of Ekurhuleni’s growing residential estates.

Although tiny in stature, Nandi is big in personality and poise and has a huge passion for what she does.

She’s not your typical It girl – in fact she’s adamant she isn’t an It girl at all, which is why she didn’t initially get jobs on entertainment shows such as Live and O-Access.

“Even though I did a good job of presenting, I didn’t have the urban look the shows were after,” says the 25-year-old, who hails from KZN.
